About me

My background in translation involves both languages and problem-solving, and these two skills are what sparked my interest in programming back in 2018. I was instantly hooked! I am fascinated by algorithms and absolutely love creating software for people to interact with.

After creating a few of my own apps and getting involved in some brilliant opportunities as a developer with Moment One and Women Who Code Tokyo, I knew I'd found my place. I joined General Assembly's Software Engineering Immersive to advance my skills to a professional level and ensure I will add value in the workplace.

My curiosity, patience, and determination have proven key in my success and an asset in the workplace. I am very excited to bring these qualities to the field of Software Engineering, and I look forward to joining a team that values mentorship, celebrates wins, and is excited about their work.

A full-stack, full-CRUD app using React on the frontend with Django and PostgreSQL on the backend. I wanted to create an app around the theme of exploration, so I created a platform where users can discover more about Sweden. I implemented Mapbox so that users can search both by browsing entries or by exploring the map directly, and Cloudinary so that users can upload photos of places they discover. I added 13 populated user accounts to create a lively atmosphere for the platform, encouraging visitors to get involved.

A full-stack MERN Instagram clone with full CRUD functionality built in a group of three. I created many of the models and pages for this app, and focused on building up the interface mobile-first with Instagram-like features such as profile pictures and working comments sections. I also added Cloudinary so the user can upload photos, and added 11 populated user accounts, resulting in a faithful Instagram experience.

Merriam-Webster Dictionaries

A two-day hackathon using a public API with React. As linguists, we decided to create a dictionary app. I took responsibility for creating a mobile-first interface and for pulling a variety of information including images, sound and text from two separate APIs from Merriam-Webster.

Chuchu-Pacman

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Excalidraw

A Pacman-style game built using only HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I created this tribute full of surprises for retro gaming fans: three themes (Pacman, Parappa the Rapper, and ChuChu Rocket), multiple different levels to beat, three difficulty modes, music and sfx, and the classic unlimited lives secret cheat code. I also wrote my own recursive pathfinding algorithm to make each ghost accurately chase the player in its own way.

I love exploring nature and cityscapes, and I collect photos of beautiful scenery - especially countryside views and architecture. There is always something new to see!

Languages

I really enjoy decoding foreign languages and love how this opens me up to so much culture. Each country has its own special feel, and being able to immerse myself in different experiences is really special.

Gaming

Games are my passion for the same reasons - exploration and new experiences. As a player you get to explore so many imaginative worlds and stories along with beautiful artwork and music.
